"Adventures in the Galápagos"

Explore the wide archipelago of varied volcanic islands on a guided adventure cruise to one of the world’s most stunning and biodiverse places. From the rocky, desert islands dominated by cacti and iguanas to the lush tropical highlands of Santa Cruz, where gigantic tortoises roam, you’ll see a variety of habitats and climates.

While on an expedition to the Galapagos, you will be accompanied by an Expedition Team, who are friendly Galápagos experts with many years of expertise visiting these islands. They will accompany you on shore landings and nature hikes, imparting their expertise of natural history and describing conservation activities.
You’ll be pleased to be able to enjoy the diverse selection of approachable, active, and immersive adventures available in Galápagos, which will enrich your journey and improve your awareness of this most unique of locations on our world .

1. Kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding

Some sites are perfect for exploring by kayak. Our sea kayaks are ideal for exploring the waterways of Santa Fe, Español, and Santa Cruz. Alternatively, why not try SUP boarding? Our adventure ship also has a variety of boards for your fun.

2. Nature walks

Exploring the many islands on foot transforms the visit into an adventure. You’ll be coming ashore frequently and walking on pathways that take you through a variety of different ecosystems. Imagine wandering among the silvery palo santo trees with their delicate fragrance on North Seymour, watching enormous tortoises crawl through the foliage on Santa Cruz, or visiting the sea lion population of Santa Fé.

3. Lectures and talks

The Expedition Team members have years of experience exploring the Galápagos Islands. They’ll provide in-depth talks on a variety of themes to help you get the most out of your vacation to the intriguing Galápagos. The topics covered will be relevant to where you are on your voyage, and you will learn about the origin of the Galápagos Islands, their extraordinary biodiversity, how it impacted Charles Darwin, and contemporary conservation efforts.

4. Conservation and research centers

The Galápagos Islands are the center of international conservation and scientific initiatives. We’ll go to the Charles Darwin Research Station, where more than 200 scientists and volunteers are working to increase biodiversity. You’ll observe young tortoises, known as hatchlings, being raised in incubation pens and learn about other inspiring and successful conservation initiatives. On San Cristóbal, a woodland serves as a tortoise refuge. Here, you may view these gentle giants in their native surroundings.

5. Snorkeling

What could be better than drifting over a vibrant reef and witnessing the incredible marine life highlighted in crystal-clear waters? We have all of the snorkeling equipment you need for an unforgettable experience, and our skilled Expedition Team will take you to incredible locations where you can witness laidback turtles, colorful fish, diving marine iguanas, and sea lions performing underwater acrobatics. (Some cruise lines provide complimentary wetsuit rentals.)

6. Wildlife watching

Your adventure tour in the Galápagos Islands will provide a continual opportunity to observe wildlife. Because the creatures here developed without many predators, they are fearless of humans, allowing you to come closer to witness—and photograph—them lounging on the beaches and volcanic rocks, or, in the case of gigantic tortoises, ambling calmly. We’ll also be looking for faster-moving species like dolphins, reef sharks, and Galapagos iguanas.
